|RIO DE JANEIRO Mike Smith Flames Jersey , Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Rio 2016 organizers have changed the time and route of Sunday's Olympic road cycling test event to avoid clashing with a planned protest, the city government said on Monday.
The International Road Cycling Challenge is one of 45 test events being held as Rio prepares for the first Olympics in South America.
Cyclists will now begin the event at Copacabana beach at 8:30am, an hour earlier than originally scheduled. Protesters have planned to gather at the location later in the day.
Instead of finishing in Copacabana, the event will now end at Sao Conrado beach, further southwest, the city prefecture said in a statement.
Cyclists from 20 countries are expected to compete in the 165km event, which also passes through the neighborhoods of Ipanema, Leblon, Vidigal, Barra da Tijuca, Recreio, Prainha, Grumari and Guaratiba.
A grow light is an electric light that is used to kindle the plant growth as it emits light similar to the sunís rays. There are different types of grow led lights that cater to the requirements of different types of plants that you have at home. Finding the right grow light is a tough process. The following points would let you know the things to consider while buying one for your plants.
1. Calculate The Area That Requires Grow Led Lights: Always make sure that you calculate the area you wish to place the grow lights.Make sure you calculate by measuringthe square footage of the place. While calculating the area, always make sure thatyou do not calculate the entire area but only the growth area belonging to your plants. This way you can avoid buying lights to cover the whole area. You can easily calculate with the help of the following calculative method:
Square feet = Width x Depth
Required Wattage = Watts x square feet
2. Decide The Grow Light Watts Depending On The Plant Types: If you wish to light high plants such as tomatoes, then you will require about 40 watts oflighting as it is essential to optimize the fruits bearing capability and growth of the plant. If you have small sized plants such as herbs and lettuce, you can use a grow light of 25 Ė 30 watts. Determine the nature of the plants you have and purchase the light from the Led wholesalers for a cheaper price.
3. Decide On The Fixtures Of Grow Light: Usually gardeners prefer using the metal halide fixtures to promote vegetable growth while for the flowering plants; they prefer HPS or High pressure Sodium. They strongly feel that the grow light could enhance the production by 20%.So they followed a procedure of switching on theHPS for the flowering plant season and using the other fixture for vegetation crop time.
But nowadays, you can find that there are switchable ballasts that are available in configurations such as 400 and 1000 watts. This fixture allows you to use both the lights alternatively depending upon your requirement. If you prefer to have tomatoes, the plant will have lots of flowers and hence opting for the 400 HPS grow light would be the right option. You can easily find one at any of the Led wholesalers in your locality.
4. Decide On The Reflector Type: When you decide to have a grow light for your plants, make sure that you choose the right kind of reflector. This is essential while planning to set up grow led lights as it helps in uniform distribution over the whole growing area. Horizontal reflectors are very efficient ones as it increases the light by 40% when compared to the vertical reflectors.
Also you can have flanges that exhibit air cooling characteristics and tempered glass to spice up the look. This would offer a look similar to Christmas lights which would promote the coolness of your grow room and help to keep away the heat generated by the grow bulb.
These factors would help you to decide the ways of selecting a grow light and the various ways to improve its light beam. You can now tend to your plants with great care and watch them flower and bear fruits.
Going to Paris? Sooner or later you may. Once there, steer clear of the typical Parisian landmarks. Follow in the footsteps of Phil, the Senior Editor of a well-known Paris travel guide. Take a peek at out-of-sight places few outsiders know. Amazement guaranteed.
Every Paris travel guide seems to have something to add to the already voluminous information available on such well-known spots as the Louvre and Orsay museums, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Eiffel Tower.
Yet what about discovering the quaint neighborhoods of the 19th century Paris? Or taking pictures of the inn built for the paupers by Nicholas Flamel in the 15th century (yes, that's the same Nicholas Flamel written about in Harry Potter)?
In my reckoning, there's a truly interesting way of discovering Paris, and that's to take the less traveled path. The one I take with my friends when we visit the French capital.
So, let's assume you are as eager as we are to learn something new about Paris, and let's take a peek at just two of its less-well-known jewels. The next time you take the trip to Paris, you'll be the one leading the way!
The Lutece Arena, a return into time
Before Paris became Paris, the city was the capital of the territory occupied by the Parisii, the Gallic tribe after which Paris will take its name in the 4th century A.D. There is some controversy about the original Celtic name of the city, but when the Romans invaded it in 52 B.C. under Emperor Julius Caesar, they called it Lutecia (or Lutetia).
In the 2nd century A.D., the Romans built in its middle an amphitheater of about 25,000 square feet, which could hold about 16,000 spectators. During the next century, gladiator fights and other less palatable games (e.g. offering early Christians for lunch to beasts .
